    Little Lion Steamed Bun Baking Steps

      Place milk, yeast, sugar, Flour and oil into a bowl. Combine all the ingredients with a spatula/ let the bread machine mix it well!

      Place on worktop and add in food coloring: yellow. Then knead the dough till it become smooth and in fine texture. Or bread machine do it well!

      The dough should look smooth and in fine texture after kneaded.

      Take out around 20 gm plan dough for lion's head. This recipe make approximately 8 lions.

      Knead each portion of dough by rolling it on your worktop, then pressing it together. Continue tuck and press motion until a ball is formed. Place on a piece of parchment paper.

      Color small amount of dough into black, brown and white color.

      Ready 2 yellow ears, 2 black eyes, a brown nose, 2 white circle,4 beard.

      Apply a thin layer of water and place all the dough as a lion face.

      Set aside to proof till the buns are airy, soft to touch and double in volume.

      Steam the buns for 8 minutes over medium heat.

      REMOVE LID BEFORE you turn off heat, or else water will drip back onto bun surface and produce yellowish "blisters" on bun surfaces. Continue steaming batches of buns until all are cooked.

      After steaming, turn off the heat. DO NOT OPEN THE LID of the steamer. Let the buns sit there for 5 minutes like this. The buns will not sink or wrinkle due to the sudden change in temperature
